Înainte să încep „Pasiune regăsită”, aveam sentimente amestecate. Pe de o parte, eram extrem de nerăbdătoare să aflu cum se încheie seria „Windy City”, iar pe de altă parte știam că, odată întoarsă ultima pagină, va trebui să îmi iau rămas-bun de la niște personaje care au ajuns să însemne foarte mult pentru mine. Liz Tomforde a reușit, de-a lungul seriei, să creeze un grup de prieteni atât de autentic și de ușor de îndrăgit, încât fiecare volum a fost ca o reîntâlnire cu niște oameni dragi. Tocmai de aceea, acest ultim roman a avut o încărcătură emoțională aparte, iar finalul a fost exact așa cum mi-am dorit: plin de emoție, speranță și momente care mi-au rămas în suflet.
De această dată, povestea îi are în prim-plan pe Rio DeLuca și Hallie Hart, doi oameni legați de un trecut pe care niciunul nu l-a uitat cu adevărat. S-au cunoscut în copilărie, au crescut împreună, au fost cei mai buni prieteni, iar prietenia lor s-a transformat, încet și firesc, în prima iubire. Doar că, atunci când aveau nouăsprezece ani, drumurile lor s-au despărțit într-un mod dureros, lăsând în urmă răni care nu s-au vindecat nici după șase ani.
Hallie încearcă să își construiască viitorul și acceptă un stagiu de practică la un renumit designer de interior din Chicago, convinsă că un nou oraș îi va oferi șansa unui nou început. Soarta are însă alte planuri. Fără să știe, ajunge să se mute chiar în casa de lângă Rio, iar proiectul care i-ar putea transforma stagiul în jobul mult visat este chiar renovarea locuinței lui. Dintr-odată, cei doi sunt obligați să petreacă din nou timp împreună, iar toate amintirile, regretele și sentimentele pe care le-au ascuns ani la rând ies din nou la suprafață.
Mi-a plăcut enorm că povestea nu se rezumă doar la o simplă împăcare. Liz Tomforde le oferă personajelor timpul necesar pentru a vorbi despre trecut, pentru a înțelege unde au greșit și pentru a descoperi dacă oamenii care sunt astăzi mai pot construi ceva din iubirea pe care au împărțit-o cândva. Atât Hallie, cât și Rio s-au schimbat în anii în care au fost despărțiți. Amândoi au trecut prin momente dificile, au făcut greșeli și au învățat lecții importante, iar reîntâlnirea lor îi obligă să decidă dacă sunt pregătiți să lase în urmă durerea și să își ofere o nouă șansă.
Cel mai mult m-am bucurat că, în sfârșit, am avut ocazia să îl cunosc cu adevărat pe Rio. În volumele anterioare l-am văzut mereu ca pe băiatul glumeț al grupului, cel care avea întotdeauna o replică amuzantă și un zâmbet pregătit pentru toată lumea. Însă acest roman arată cât de multe poate ascunde cineva în spatele unei aparențe vesele. Sub optimismul lui Rio se află multă suferință, nesiguranță și regret, iar descoperirea tuturor acestor laturi l-a transformat într-un personaj și mai ușor de iubit. Mi-a plăcut enorm felul în care autoarea a construit vulnerabilitatea lui, fără să îi schimbe personalitatea sau farmecul care l-au făcut atât de memorabil încă din primele volume.
Hallie mi s-a părut la fel de bine construită. Este o femeie talentată, ambițioasă și sensibilă, care încearcă să își demonstreze că poate reuși pe cont propriu. Deși încă poartă cicatricile trecutului, nu lasă ca acestea să îi definească viitorul. Mi-a plăcut echilibrul dintre fragilitatea și puterea ei, dar și felul în care învață să își arate deschis sentimentele și să nu mai fugă de ceea ce își dorește cu adevărat.
Unul dintre lucrurile pe care le admir cel mai mult la Liz Tomforde este talentul ei de a construi personaje care par reale. Nici de această dată nu m-a dezamăgit. Relația dintre Rio și Hallie evoluează într-un mod natural, fără grabă, iar fiecare conversație, fiecare privire și fiecare moment petrecut împreună contribuie la reconstruirea încrederii dintre ei. Chimia lor este incredibilă, însă ceea ce mi-a plăcut cel mai mult este conexiunea emoțională. Se simte că nu sunt doar doi oameni atrași unul de celălalt, ci doi oameni care s-au cunoscut încă din copilărie și care, în ciuda anilor petrecuți departe unul de celălalt, nu au încetat niciodată să se poarte în suflet.
M-am bucurat enorm și de reîntâlnirea cu personajele din volumele anterioare. Grupul lor de prieteni rămâne unul dintre punctele forte ale seriei, iar fiecare apariție mi-a adus un zâmbet pe buze. Interacțiunile dintre ei sunt pline de umor, căldură și afecțiune, iar sentimentul de familie pe care îl transmit face ca această serie să fie și mai specială.
Emoțional, „Pasiune regăsită” m-a cucerit complet. Este una dintre acele povești care te fac să treci prin toate stările posibile. Sunt momente care îți frâng inima, momente care te emoționează până la lacrimi, dar și scene care te fac să râzi și să zâmbești fără să îți dai seama. Este o carte despre prima iubire, despre regrete, despre maturizare și despre curajul de a deschide din nou ușa unei iubiri pe care ai crezut că ai pierdut-o pentru totdeauna.
Pentru mine, „Pasiune regăsită” a fost finalul perfect pentru seria „Windy City”. Liz Tomforde încheie această călătorie într-un mod emoționant și memorabil, demonstrând încă o dată cât de bine știe să scrie povești de dragoste sincere, personaje de care te atașezi și relații care par vii. Am închis cartea cu inima plină, recunoscătoare că am avut ocazia să îi cunosc pe toți acești oameni și puțin tristă că aventura lor s-a încheiat. Este, fără îndoială, genul de lectură pe care o parcurgi cu ochii în lacrimi și cu un zâmbet sincer pe buze, iar pentru mine a fost o încheiere de serie de cinci stele.

Before I started „Rewind It Back”, I had mixed feelings. On one hand, I was incredibly excited to find out how the „Windy City” series would come to an end. On the other, I knew that once I turned the final page, I would have to say goodbye to characters who had come to mean so much to me. Throughout this series, Liz Tomforde has created such an authentic and lovable group of friends that every book felt like reconnecting with people I genuinely cared about. That’s why this final installment carried a special emotional weight for me, and the ending was exactly what I had hoped for: heartfelt, hopeful, and filled with moments that will stay with me for a long time.
This time, the story follows Rio DeLuca and Hallie Hart, two people bound together by a past neither of them has ever truly left behind. They met as children, grew up together, became best friends, and their friendship slowly and naturally blossomed into first love. But when they were nineteen, life tore them apart in a painful way, leaving behind wounds that still haven’t healed, even six years later.
Hallie is determined to build a future for herself and accepts an internship with a renowned interior designer in Chicago, convinced that a new city will give her the fresh start she desperately needs. Fate, however, has other plans. Without realizing it, she ends up moving into the house next door to Rio, and the project that could turn her internship into her dream job is none other than renovating his home. Suddenly, the two of them are forced back into each other’s lives, and all the memories, regrets, and feelings they’ve spent years trying to bury come rushing back to the surface.
One of the things I loved most about this book is that it isn’t simply about getting back together. Liz Tomforde gives her characters the time they need to talk about the past, understand where things went wrong, and figure out whether the people they’ve become can build something new from the love they once shared. Both Hallie and Rio have changed during the years they spent apart. They’ve faced hardships, made mistakes, and learned valuable lessons, and their reunion forces them to decide whether they’re finally ready to let go of the pain and give each other another chance.
What made me happiest was finally getting the opportunity to truly know Rio. In the previous books, he was always the funny one in the group, the guy who had a joke ready for every situation and a smile for everyone around him. But this novel reveals just how much someone can hide behind a cheerful facade. Beneath Rio’s optimism lies so much pain, insecurity, and regret, and discovering these deeper layers made me love his character even more. I especially appreciated the way Liz Tomforde explored his vulnerability without taking away the charm, humor, and personality that made him so memorable from the very beginning.
Hallie was just as wonderfully written. She is talented, ambitious, and kind-hearted, determined to prove to herself that she can succeed on her own. Even though she still carries the scars of her past, she refuses to let them define her future. I loved the balance between her strength and vulnerability, as well as the way she gradually learns to express her feelings openly instead of running away from what she truly wants.
One of the things I admire most about Liz Tomforde is her ability to create characters who feel like real people, and once again, she didn’t disappoint. Rio and Hallie’s relationship develops naturally, without feeling rushed, and every conversation, every glance, and every moment they share helps rebuild the trust between them. Their chemistry is undeniable, but what stood out to me even more was their emotional connection. You can truly feel that they aren’t just two people who are attracted to one another—they’re two people who have known each other since childhood and who, despite the years they spent apart, never truly stopped carrying each other in their hearts.
I was also thrilled to reunite with the characters from the previous books. Their friend group remains one of the greatest strengths of the entire series, and every appearance brought a smile to my face. Their interactions are full of humor, warmth, and affection, and the strong sense of found family they share makes this series feel even more special.
Emotionally, „Rewind It Back” completely won me over. It’s one of those stories that makes you experience every possible emotion. There are heartbreaking moments, scenes that bring tears to your eyes, and plenty of others that make you laugh and smile without even realizing it. It’s a story about first love, regret, growing up, and finding the courage to open your heart again to a love you believed was lost forever.
For me, „Rewind It Back” was the perfect conclusion to the „Windy City” series. Liz Tomforde brings this journey to a close in a heartfelt and unforgettable way, proving once again how brilliantly she writes sincere love stories, unforgettable characters, and relationships that feel incredibly real. I finished the book with a full heart—grateful that I had the chance to meet all of these characters, yet a little sad that their story had come to an end. Without a doubt, this is the kind of book you finish with tears in your eyes and a genuine smile on your face, and for me, it was a five-star series finale.
