Nu știu alții cum sunt, dar eu mereu mă simt nostalgică în luna decembrie. Ce bucurie simțeam când mergeam la ei în vacanța de iarnă și, deși nu aveam multe, simțeam că am totul… În încercarea de a readuce puțin în prezent din simplitatea vremurilor trecute, când ne jucam cu un băț și o piatră, împreună cu prietenii mei am inventat un joc care se cheamă „Lanțul provocărilor”. Nu ne provocăm să mâncăm 50 de hot-dog sau să ne aruncăm în cap găleți cu gheață, ci să citim. Înfricoșător, nu? Așa că, în evocarea vremurilor de altădată, deschid „Lanțul provocărilor” din această lună cu „Cartea accidentelor” de Chuck Wendig.

For a few years now, I’ve felt like something is missing—the holiday atmosphere, the snow outside, the little gifts left by Santa that I couldn’t wait to unwrap on Christmas morning, even though I already knew what I’d find: a few oranges, socks, and pens. Ahhh, I can almost taste the biscuit salami and the stuffed walnuts! The joy I felt when visiting them during winter break was immense, and even though we didn’t have much, I felt like I had everything…
In an effort to bring a bit of that simple past into the present—when we played with just a stick and a stone—my friends and I invented a game called the “Challenge Chain.” We don’t challenge each other to eat 50 hot dogs or dump buckets of ice water on ourselves, but to read. Scary, right? So, evoking times gone by, this month I’m kicking off the “Challenge Chain” with The Book of Accidents by Chuck Wendig.
