„Casanova” de TL Swan este al treilea volum din seria Miles High și spune povestea lui Elliot Miles, al treilea dintre faimoșii frați Miles. Cartea păstrează stilul romantic, pasional și plin de umor al autoarei, dar aduce în prim-plan și o latură mai sensibilă a personajelor.
Elliot Miles este cunoscut de toată lumea drept Casanova. Este un bărbat sigur pe el, direct și extrem de eficient în lumea afacerilor. La birou este dur, calculat și nu acceptă greșeli. Totuși, dincolo de această imagine impunătoare se ascunde un om surprinzător de diferit. În viața personală, Elliot este mult mai relaxat și își găsește bucuria în lucruri simple. Crede în destin și, într-un mod aproape romantic, în ideea de dragoste la prima vedere. Această parte mai caldă și mai visătoare a lui o arată doar familiei și celor apropiați, ceea ce îl face un personaj mai complex decât pare la prima vedere.
Kate este femeia care îi dă complet viața peste cap. Ea nu este genul de eroină perfectă și sigură pe sine. Din contră, este construită foarte uman, cu multe nesiguranțe legate de aspectul ei fizic, de hainele pe care le poartă și de felul în care este percepută de cei din jur. Pe parcursul poveștii, aceste nesiguranțe devin și mai evidente pe măsură ce începe să simtă tot mai mult pentru Elliot. Sentimentele ei cresc treptat și uneori o sperie, pentru că Elliot este exact tipul de bărbat care pare imposibil de cucerit.
Întâlnirile dintre cei doi sunt pline de scântei încă de la început. Între ei există multă chimie, dar și multe momente amuzante. Dialogurile sunt rapide, ironice și pline de tensiune romantică. Mi-au plăcut foarte mult interacțiunile dintre Elliot și Kate, pentru că au mult umor, dar și un puternic sex appeal. Relația lor evoluează între tachinări, momente tensionate și clipe în care amândoi își arată vulnerabilitatea.
Un alt lucru care mi-a plăcut în mod special a fost să îl descopăr mai bine pe Elliot, al treilea frate Miles. Personajul lui este construit în mai multe straturi: pe de o parte este omul dur și foarte sigur pe el din lumea afacerilor, iar pe de altă parte este bărbatul care crede în destin și în ideea că uneori dragostea apare atunci când te aștepți mai puțin. Această combinație îl face foarte interesant și diferit de imaginea superficială de Casanova pe care o afișează.
Per total, „Casanova” este o poveste romantică ușor de citit, plină de momente intense, umor și personaje care se dezvoltă frumos pe parcurs. Mi-a plăcut această carte și modul în care autoarea a construit relația dintre Elliot și Kate, cu toate emoțiile, nesiguranțele și atracția dintre ei. Este genul de poveste care te face să zâmbești, dar care arată și că, uneori, oamenii cei mai siguri pe ei pot fi cei care cred cel mai mult în magie și în dragoste.

“The Casanova” by TL Swan is the third book in the Miles High series and tells the story of Elliot Miles, the third of the famous Miles brothers. The book keeps the author’s romantic, passionate, and humorous style, but it also brings forward a more sensitive side of the characters.
Elliot Miles is known by everyone as Casanova. He is a confident man, direct and extremely efficient in the business world. At the office he is tough, calculated, and does not tolerate mistakes. However, beyond this imposing image lies a surprisingly different man. In his personal life, Elliot is much more relaxed and finds joy in simple things. He believes in destiny and, in an almost romantic way, in the idea of love at first sight. He shows this warmer and more dreamy side only to his family and the people closest to him, which makes him a more complex character than he first appears.
Kate is the woman who completely turns his life upside down. She is not the type of heroine who is perfect and confident. On the contrary, she is written in a very human way, with many insecurities about her physical appearance, the clothes she wears, and the way she is perceived by those around her. As the story progresses, these insecurities become even more visible as she begins to feel more and more for Elliot. Her feelings grow gradually and sometimes scare her, because Elliot is exactly the type of man who seems impossible to win over.
The encounters between the two are full of sparks from the very beginning. There is a lot of chemistry between them, but also many funny moments. The dialogues are quick, ironic, and full of romantic tension. I really enjoyed the interactions between Elliot and Kate because they contain a lot of humor, but also a strong sex appeal. Their relationship evolves through teasing, tense moments, and times when both of them show their vulnerability.
Another thing I especially enjoyed was getting to know Elliot, the third Miles brother, better. His character is built in multiple layers: on one hand he is the tough, very confident man from the business world, and on the other hand he is the man who believes in destiny and in the idea that sometimes love appears when you least expect it. This combination makes him very interesting and different from the superficial Casanova image he shows to the world.
Overall, “Casanova” is an easy-to-read romantic story, full of intense moments, humor, and characters who develop beautifully throughout the book. I really liked this story and the way the author built the relationship between Elliot and Kate, with all the emotions, insecurities, and attraction between them. It is the kind of story that makes you smile, but also shows that sometimes the most confident people can be the ones who believe the most in magic and in love.
