„Achiziția” de TL Swan a fost, pentru mine, o surpriză extrem de plăcută și o lectură care m-a atins mult mai profund decât mă așteptam. Deși este al doilea volum din serie, pot spune sincer că mi-a plăcut mai mult decât primul. Am intrat în poveste crezând că voi avea parte de un romance clasic, previzibil, dar cartea m-a luat complet prin surprindere, atât prin intensitatea emoțiilor, cât și prin mesajul puternic pe care îl transmite: faptul că viața îți poate oferi o a doua șansă la fericire și la familie, chiar și după pierderi dureroase.
Protagonista, Claire, este un personaj extrem de uman și ușor de îndrăgit. Este o femeie puternică, dar marcată de durere, care își crește singură copiii după moartea soțului ei, petrecută cu cinci ani în urmă. Modul în care vorbește despre el, cu iubire, respect și dor, m-a emoționat profund. Nu este genul de personaj care trece mai departe ușor, iar acest lucru face povestea să pară reală și sinceră. Durerea ei este prezentă în fiecare decizie, în fiecare gând, dar și în felul în care încearcă să fie o mamă bună pentru copiii ei.
Unul dintre cele mai emoționante momente din carte, care mi-a rămas întipărit în minte, este legat de unul dintre copii, care fuge de acasă și merge la mormântul tatălui său. Scena în care copilul vorbește cu tatăl decedat și îi duce trabucurile pe care știe că acesta le plăcea m-a sfâșiat pur și simplu. Este o scenă plină de inocență, durere și dor, care spune mai mult decât o mie de cuvinte despre pierdere și despre legătura dintre părinte și copil.
Pe lângă partea emoțională extrem de bine construită, cartea este presărată și cu foarte mult umor. Dialogurile sunt savuroase, situațiile sunt uneori absurde, iar interacțiunile dintre personaje m-au făcut să râd cu lacrimi. Mi-a plăcut enorm acest echilibru între durere și momentele amuzante, care fac povestea să curgă natural și să nu devină copleșitoare.
Romance-ul este frumos construit, matur și realist. Nu este o poveste de dragoste grăbită sau superficială, ci una care se dezvoltă treptat, cu temeri, nesiguranțe și multă vindecare. „Achiziția” nu este doar despre atracție și pasiune, ci despre acceptare, familie, pierdere și curajul de a iubi din nou.
Pentru mine, această carte a fost mult mai mult decât un simplu romance. A fost o poveste care m-a făcut să simt, să râd, să plâng și să reflectez. O recomand din tot sufletul și pentru emoție, și pentru umor, și pentru mesajul frumos pe care îl transmite. Fără îndoială, o lectură de cinci stele.

“The Takeover” by TL Swan was, for me, an extremely pleasant surprise and a read that touched me far more deeply than I expected. Even though it is the second book in the series, I can honestly say I enjoyed it more than the first. I went into the story thinking I would get a classic, predictable romance, but the book completely surprised me—both through the intensity of its emotions and through the powerful message it delivers: that life can offer you a second chance at happiness and family, even after painful losses.
The protagonist, Claire, is an incredibly human and easy-to-love character. She is a strong woman, yet deeply marked by pain, raising her children on her own after the death of her husband five years earlier. The way she speaks about him—with love, respect, and longing—moved me profoundly. She is not the kind of character who moves on easily, and that makes the story feel real and honest. Her grief is present in every decision, every thought, and also in the way she tries to be a good mother to her children.
One of the most emotional moments in the book, which stayed with me long after reading, involves one of the children who runs away from home and goes to his father’s grave. The scene in which the child talks to his deceased father and brings him the cigars he knows he loved simply broke my heart. It is a moment full of innocence, pain, and longing, saying more than a thousand words about loss and the bond between parent and child.
Alongside the beautifully built emotional side, the book is also filled with a lot of humor. The dialogues are delightful, the situations are sometimes absurd, and the interactions between the characters made me laugh out loud. I loved this balance between pain and humor, which allows the story to flow naturally without becoming overwhelming.
The romance itself is beautifully written—mature and realistic. It is not a rushed or superficial love story, but one that develops gradually, with fears, insecurities, and a lot of healing. „The Takeover” is not just about attraction and passion; it is about acceptance, family, loss, and the courage to love again.
For me, this book was much more than a simple romance. It was a story that made me feel, laugh, cry, and reflect. I wholeheartedly recommend it—for the emotion, the humor, and the beautiful message it conveys. Without a doubt, a five-star read.
