De la primele pagini ale cărții „Lights Out”, am simțit că intru într-o lume periculoasă, seducătoare și plină de mister. Navessa Allen scrie cu un stil intens, care te prinde imediat, iar povestea te face să te întrebi cât de departe ai merge pentru a simți din nou ceva adevărat. Mi-a plăcut enorm atmosfera întunecată, aproape hipnotică, care se împletește perfect cu emoțiile puternice ale personajelor.
Personajul principal, Aly Cappellucci, este o asistentă care lucrează în secția de traume. În spatele profesionalismului ei se ascunde însă o femeie epuizată, singură și plină de frici. Ziua salvează vieți, noaptea caută o evadare. Urmărește online un bărbat misterios, un fel de legendă urbană a rețelelor sociale — mascat, tatuat, periculos și irezistibil. Dintr-un impuls, îi trimite un mesaj într-o seară, iar acest gest aparent nevinovat îi schimbă complet viața.
Acest bărbat este Josh Hammond — o prezență intensă și fascinantă. Este genul de personaj care pare că ascunde o mie de secrete, dar în același timp te face să vrei să le afli pe toate. Mi-a plăcut foarte mult felul în care autoarea l-a construit: nu este doar un tip misterios, ci un om care trăiește între două lumi — cea reală și cea virtuală. Pe de o parte, pare periculos și imprevizibil, dar pe de altă parte are o profunzime emoțională neașteptată. Relația dintre el și Aly este un amestec de teamă, dorință, curiozitate și nevoie de vindecare.
Pe măsură ce povestea avansează, jocul dintre cei doi devine din ce în ce mai intens. Ceea ce începe ca o fantezie online se transformă într-o experiență reală, plină de tensiune și risc. Aly trebuie să decidă dacă vrea cu adevărat să pășească în întuneric, iar Josh trebuie să hotărască dacă o poate proteja de pericolele care o pândesc — inclusiv de el însuși. Mi-a plăcut mult felul în care Navessa Allen a îmbinat pasiunea cu suspansul; fiecare capitol te ține cu sufletul la gură și nu știi niciodată ce urmează.
Am simțit o conexiune specială cu Aly, pentru că mi s-a părut foarte umană. Este puternică, dar în același timp vulnerabilă. Se luptă cu propriile frici, cu rușinea, cu dorința de a fi văzută și înțeleasă. Am empatizat cu nevoia ei de evadare și cu faptul că uneori căutăm emoție acolo unde știm că nu este sigur. Cartea mi-a amintit cât de ușor poți confunda pericolul cu pasiunea și cât de greu este să te salvezi singur atunci când te atrage întunericul.
Finalul a fost intens, neașteptat și emoționant. Mi-a lăsat o senzație de gol și, în același timp, de eliberare. „Lights Out” nu este doar o poveste de dragoste întunecată — este o poveste despre limite, vulnerabilitate și redescoperirea sinelui. Este despre cum, uneori, trebuie să te pierzi puțin ca să te regăsești complet.
Pentru mine, această carte merită cinci stele fără ezitare. Are tot ce mi-aș putea dori: personaje vii, acțiune tensionată, emoții profunde și o scriitură care îți rămâne în minte mult timp după ce ai terminat-o. O recomand tuturor celor care iubesc poveștile intense, pline de pasiune, mister și umbre.

From the very first pages of „Lights Out”, I felt like I was stepping into a dangerous, seductive, and mysterious world. Navessa Allen writes with an intense style that grabs you instantly, and the story makes you wonder how far you’d go just to feel something real again. I absolutely loved the dark, almost hypnotic atmosphere that blends perfectly with the raw emotions of the characters.
The main character, Aly Cappellucci, is a trauma nurse. Behind her professionalism hides a woman who is exhausted, lonely, and full of fear. By day she saves lives; by night she searches for an escape. She secretly follows a mysterious man online — a sort of urban legend of social media — masked, tattooed, dangerous, and irresistible. One night, on a sudden impulse, she sends him a message, and that seemingly harmless act completely changes her life.
That man is Josh Hammond — an intense and fascinating presence. He’s the kind of character who seems to hide a thousand secrets, yet makes you want to uncover every single one. I really liked the way the author built him: he’s not just a mysterious guy, but a man caught between two worlds — the real and the virtual. On one hand, he seems dangerous and unpredictable, but on the other, he has an unexpected emotional depth. The relationship between him and Aly is a mix of fear, desire, curiosity, and a longing for healing.
As the story unfolds, the game between them grows more and more intense. What starts as an online fantasy turns into a real experience, filled with tension and risk. Aly must decide if she truly wants to step into the darkness, and Josh must decide whether he can protect her from the dangers that surround her — including himself. I loved how Navessa Allen combined passion with suspense; every chapter keeps you on edge, never knowing what will happen next.
I felt a special connection to Aly because she seemed so human. She’s strong, but at the same time, vulnerable. She struggles with her fears, her shame, and her desire to be seen and understood. I empathized with her need to escape, and with the idea that sometimes we search for emotion in places we know aren’t safe. The book reminded me how easily danger can be mistaken for passion — and how hard it is to save yourself when darkness calls to you.
The ending was intense, unexpected, and deeply emotional. It left me with a feeling of emptiness, but also of release. „Lights Out” is not just a dark love story — it’s a story about limits, vulnerability, and rediscovering oneself. It’s about how sometimes you have to lose yourself a little in order to truly find who you are.
For me, this book deserves five stars without hesitation. It has everything I could ask for: vivid characters, gripping action, deep emotion, and writing that stays with you long after you’ve turned the last page. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves intense stories full of passion, mystery, and shadows.
