„Sinners Anonymous” de Somme Sketcher este un dark romance intens, senzual și periculos, genul de poveste care te face să te simți vinovat că o iubești. Este despre dorință, păcat și limitele dintre iubire și autodistrugere. O carte care m-a prins de la primele pagini și m-a făcut să trăiesc fiecare emoție cu o intensitate aproape dureroasă.
Personajul principal, Rory Carter, este o femeie cu o viață complicată și un trecut plin de greșeli. Ca să-și salveze tatăl, acceptă să se căsătorească cu un capo septuagenar din Cosa Nostra — o alegere care o prinde într-o lume a tăcerii, fricii și aparențelor. Sub masca zâmbetului perfect, Rory ascunde un suflet distrus, iar singura ei alinare sunt spovedaniile anonime la Sinners Anonymous, un hotline unde oamenii își mărturisesc păcatele și dorințele cele mai întunecate.
Totul se schimbă atunci când în viața ei apare Angelo “Vicious” Visconti, nepotul logodnicului ei. Este un bărbat periculos, misterios, cu o frumusețe rece și un trecut care încă arde. Între ei se naște o atracție imposibil de stăpânit, o tensiune care se transformă rapid în obsesie. Angelo este genul de personaj care îți dă fiori — nu știi dacă vrei să fugi de el sau să te pierzi complet în privirea lui. Relația lor este o explozie de dorință și vinovăție, o luptă între rațiune și instinct, între „nu trebuie” și „nu pot altfel”.
Mi-a plăcut felul în care autoarea combină erotismul cu emoția, aducând profunzime într-o poveste care ar fi putut fi doar despre pasiune. Dialogurile sunt pline de tensiune, iar scenele dintre Rory și Angelo par un dans periculos între păcat și mântuire. Am simțit suferința ei, am simțit lupta lui — și am înțeles de ce această poveste este atât de irezistibilă pentru cititori.
Totuși, i-am dat patru stele pentru că, pe alocuri, ritmul devine prea intens, iar drama dintre personaje riscă să umbrească partea emoțională. Aș fi vrut puțin mai multă construcție interioară pentru Rory, mai mult spațiu pentru vulnerabilitate și mai puțin foc continuu.
Chiar și așa, „Sinners Anonymous” este o carte care nu se uită ușor. M-a făcut să simt, să tresar și să vreau mai mult. Este un roman despre păcatul care te distruge și iubirea care te arde din interior. Un dark romance care îți lasă urme adânci și te face să te întrebi: dacă dragostea e un păcat… de ce se simte atât de bine?

I loved how the author blends eroticism with emotion, bringing depth to a story that could have been just about passion. The dialogues are full of tension, and the scenes between Rory and Angelo feel like a dangerous dance between sin and redemption. I felt her pain, I felt his struggle — and I understood why this story is so irresistible to readers.
Still, I gave it four stars, because at times the pacing becomes too intense, and the drama between the characters threatens to overshadow the emotional core. I would have liked a bit more inner development for Rory — more space for vulnerability and less constant fire.
Even so, „Sinners Anonymous” is a story that’s hard to forget. It made me feel, flinch, and crave more. It’s a novel about the sin that destroys you and the love that burns you from the inside out. A dark romance that leaves deep marks and makes you wonder:
