O lectură întunecată și captivantă, care m-a prins mai repede decât mă așteptam – dar nu fără să-mi lase și semne de întrebare.
„Predator” de RuNyx este genul de carte care îți intră pe sub piele încă din primele pagini. Are o atmosferă întunecată, periculoasă și plină de tensiune, care te face să nu vrei să o lași din mână. Deși nu este o lectură ușoară, m-a atras foarte mult dinamica dintre personaje și modul în care pericolul este mereu prezent, chiar și în cele mai intime momente.
Personajul principal, Morana Vitalio, este o femeie inteligentă, sarcastică și puternică. Am apreciat mult faptul că nu este genul de eroină care așteaptă să fie salvată – din contră, ea pornește pe cont propriu într-o anchetă periculoasă pentru a descoperi adevărul despre o rețea criminală, riscând totul. Ce mi-a plăcut cel mai mult la ea este felul în care își ascunde vulnerabilitatea în spatele unui scut de sarcasm și logică.
Apoi apare Tristan Caine, un bărbat învăluit în mister, rece, calculat, letal – dar cu o profunzime pe care o descoperi treptat. Relația dintre el și Morana este construită lent, cu multă tensiune sexuală și dialoguri savuroase. Nu este deloc un clișeu, deși la început pare un dușman clasic transformat în aliat. Cei doi sunt obligați să colaboreze pentru a investiga un secret întunecat din trecutul lor comun, legat de familiile criminale din oraș.
Mi-a plăcut foarte mult combinația dintre acțiune, mister și chimia dintre personaje. Atmosfera este densă, ca într-un film noir, iar lumea subterană descrisă de RuNyx este brutală, fără filtre. Autoarea nu se teme să exploreze teme grele – de la trădare și violență, până la loialitate, durere și reconstrucție personală.
Totuși, motivul pentru care i-am oferit patru stele și nu cinci este că, uneori, stilul narativ devine prea încărcat, iar descrierile par ușor exagerate. În plus, unele scene se repetă în emoție sau idee, și simțeam că mai voiam ceva claritate în ceea ce privește lumea și regulile din spatele organizațiilor secrete.
În ciuda acestor mici minusuri, „Predator” m-a ținut cu sufletul la gură și m-a făcut să-mi doresc să continui seria. Dacă îți plac poveștile dark romance, cu personaje complicate, relații tensionate și multă acțiune, atunci cartea asta sigur o să-ți trezească interesul.

A dark and gripping read that pulled me in faster than I expected – but not without leaving me with a few questions.
„The Predator” by RuNyx is the kind of book that gets under your skin from the very first pages. It has a dark, dangerous, and tension-filled atmosphere that makes it hard to put down. While it’s not an easy read, I was deeply drawn to the dynamic between the characters and the constant sense of danger, even in the most intimate moments.
The main character, Morana Vitalio, is smart, sarcastic, and strong. I really appreciated that she’s not the kind of heroine who waits around to be saved – quite the opposite, in fact. She sets out on her own dangerous investigation to uncover the truth behind a criminal network, risking everything. What I liked most about her was how she hides her vulnerability behind a shield of sarcasm and logic.
Then comes Tristan Caine, a man shrouded in mystery – cold, calculated, lethal – but with a depth that slowly unfolds. His relationship with Morana is built slowly, full of sexual tension and sharp, witty dialogue. It’s far from cliché, even though it may seem like a classic enemies-to-allies setup at first. The two are forced to work together to investigate a dark secret from their shared past, one tied to the criminal families that rule the city.
I really enjoyed the mix of action, mystery, and the chemistry between the characters. The atmosphere feels thick, almost like a noir film, and the underworld RuNyx creates is brutal and unfiltered. The author doesn’t shy away from heavy themes – from betrayal and violence to loyalty, pain, and personal rebuilding.
However, the reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because the narrative style sometimes felt overly dense, and a few descriptions came off as slightly exaggerated. Some emotional or thematic scenes also felt repetitive, and I found myself wishing for more clarity about the world and the rules behind the secret organizations.
Despite these small flaws, „The Predator” kept me on edge and made me want to continue the series. If you’re into dark romance stories with complex characters, intense relationships, and lots of action, this book is definitely worth your attention.
