„EU și IA” de Jan Cornelius este o carte absolut delicioasă, plină de umor absurd, inteligență subtilă și o doză sănătoasă de autoironie. Am citit-o cu zâmbetul pe buze și cu mintea larg deschisă, pentru că autorul ne oferă nu doar o simplă conversație cu o inteligență artificială, ci un adevărat spectacol al gândirii jucăușe și provocatoare.
Personajul principal este chiar autorul – un scriitor român stabilit în Germania, curios, ironic și foarte atent la nuanțe. Dialogurile sale cu IA (inteligența artificială) sunt pe cât de absurde, pe atât de inteligente. De exemplu, când îi spune IA că el, Jan Cornelius, nu scrie în limba română, deși este evident contrariul, sau când vorbește despre oglinzi care își întorc spatele sau despre pisici care comandă conserve online.
Cartea este formată dintr-o serie de conversații amuzante, parodii ale logicii automate și reflecții despre cum tehnologia poate fi luată peste picior. Tonul este relaxat, jovial, dar în spatele glumelor se ascunde o întrebare serioasă: cât de mult putem avea încredere în gândirea artificială, care știe totul… dar nu înțelege nimic?
Am râs tare mult la schimburile despre monologurile interioare („Să-mi spun tu sau dumneavoastră?”), despre identitate, despre iubirea digitală sau despre absurdul proces în care autorul se dă în judecată pe el însuși. Stilul este viu, cu fraze scurte, naturale, iar ironia nu este niciodată răutăcioasă – mai degrabă duioasă și plină de haz.
Ce mi-a plăcut enorm este că Jan Cornelius folosește IA nu doar ca interlocutor, ci ca o oglindă a absurdului uman. Dialogul cu „robotul” scoate la iveală tocmai ce este mai… omenesc: nevoia de a râde, de a înțelege lumea, de a ne juca cu sensurile și nonsensurile ei.
O lectură savuroasă, originală și extrem de actuală. „EU și IA” nu este doar amuzantă, este inteligentă și profundă în felul ei discret. Mi-a amintit cât de important este să nu ne luăm prea în serios și să ne păstrăm simțul umorului – chiar și (sau mai ales) în fața tehnologiei. O recomand tuturor celor care iubesc jocul de idei, cuvinte și paradoxuri.

„ME and AI” by Jan Cornelius is an absolutely delightful book, full of absurd humor, subtle intelligence, and a healthy dose of self-irony. I read it with a smile on my face and my mind wide open, because the author offers not just a simple conversation with an artificial intelligence, but a true spectacle of playful and provocative thinking.
The main character is the author himself – a Romanian writer living in Germany, curious, ironic, and highly attentive to nuances. His dialogues with AI (artificial intelligence) are as absurd as they are clever. For example, when the AI tells him that Jan Cornelius doesn’t write in Romanian – although the opposite is obviously true – or when he talks about mirrors that turn their backs on each other, or cats that order canned food online.
The book is made up of a series of humorous conversations, parodies of automated logic, and reflections on how technology can be gently mocked. The tone is relaxed and jovial, but behind the jokes lies a serious question: how much can we trust artificial thinking, which knows everything… but understands nothing?
I laughed out loud at the exchanges about inner monologues („Should I call myself you or sir?”), about identity, digital love, or the absurd trial in which the author sues himself. The style is lively, with short, natural sentences, and the irony is never mean-spirited – rather tender and full of charm.
What I loved most is that Jan Cornelius uses AI not just as a dialogue partner, but as a mirror reflecting human absurdity. The conversation with the “robot” reveals precisely what is most… human: the need to laugh, to understand the world, to play with its meanings and nonsense.
A savory, original, and extremely timely read. „ME and AI” is not just funny – it’s intelligent and quietly profound. It reminded me how important it is not to take ourselves too seriously and to keep our sense of humor – even (or especially) in the face of technology. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys playing with ideas, words, and paradoxes.
