„V de la Vendetta” de Alan Moore și David Lloyd este o poveste care m-a impresionat profund și m-a făcut să privesc cu alți ochi ideea de libertate, identitate și curaj. Este un roman grafic care nu doar spune o poveste, ci te provoacă să gândești.
Acțiunea se petrece într-o Anglie distopică, aflată sub conducerea unui regim totalitar. Statul controlează tot: gândurile oamenilor, viața lor de zi cu zi, presa, chiar și muzica sau literatura. În acest decor sumbru, apare un personaj misterios care poartă o mască albă cu un zâmbet ironic – V. El este mai mult decât un om. Este un simbol, o idee, o voce a celor care nu mai au curajul să vorbească.
V este un luptător mascat care folosește atât forța, cât și arta și poezia ca arme împotriva dictaturii. Mi-a plăcut enorm faptul că nu este un erou tipic – este complex, greu de înțeles uneori, dar fascinează prin viziunea lui și prin hotărârea de a schimba lumea, cu orice preț.
Un alt personaj care mi-a rămas în minte este Evey Hammond, o tânără naivă la început, dar care trece printr-o transformare profundă. La început, este doar o victimă a sistemului, dar, sub îndrumarea (și uneori duritatea) lui V, învață ce înseamnă libertatea adevărată. Povestea ei m-a emoționat mult, mai ales în momentele în care este pusă în fața unor alegeri dificile, care o forțează să-și descopere forța interioară.
Romanul grafic este plin de momente intense – explozii, trădări, scene tulburătoare și pasaje poetice. Mi-a plăcut modul în care Alan Moore reușește să îmbine acțiunea cu teme filozofice profunde. Iar desenele lui David Lloyd sunt întunecate, expresive și pline de atmosferă – completează perfect povestea.
Ce m-a atins cel mai mult a fost ideea că oricine poate deveni o voce a schimbării, că o mască poate ascunde nu doar o față, ci o idee care nu poate fi ucisă. „V de la Vendetta” nu este doar o poveste cu acțiune – este un manifest pentru libertate și individualitate.
Recomand această carte tuturor celor care vor mai mult decât o poveste cu eroi și răufăcători. Este o experiență intensă, provocatoare, care rămâne cu tine mult timp după ce o termini. Pentru mine, a fost o lectură de cinci stele fără niciun dubiu.

„V for Vendetta” by Alan Moore and David Lloyd is a story that deeply impressed me and made me look at the ideas of freedom, identity, and courage in a completely new way. It’s a graphic novel that doesn’t just tell a story – it challenges you to think.
The action takes place in a dystopian England, ruled by a totalitarian regime. The state controls everything: people’s thoughts, their everyday lives, the press, even music and literature. In this dark and oppressive world, a mysterious figure appears, wearing a white mask with an ironic smile – V. He is more than just a man. He is a symbol, an idea, a voice for those who no longer have the courage to speak up.
V is a masked fighter who uses both force and the power of art and poetry as weapons against the dictatorship. What I loved most is that he’s not a typical hero – he’s complex, sometimes hard to understand, but fascinating through his vision and his determination to change the world at any cost.
Another character who stayed with me is Evey Hammond, a young and naive girl at first, but one who undergoes a powerful transformation. At the beginning, she’s just a victim of the system, but under V’s guidance (and at times, harsh methods), she learns what true freedom means. Her story moved me deeply, especially in those moments when she’s faced with difficult choices that force her to discover her inner strength.
The graphic novel is full of intense moments – explosions, betrayals, disturbing scenes, and poetic passages. I really appreciated how Alan Moore manages to blend action with deep philosophical themes. And David Lloyd’s illustrations are dark, expressive, and atmospheric – they perfectly complement the story.
What touched me the most was the idea that anyone can become a voice for change, that a mask can hide not just a face, but an idea that cannot be killed. „V for Vendetta” is not just a story about heroes and villains – it’s a manifesto for freedom and individuality.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for more than a typical action story. It’s an intense, thought-provoking experience that stays with you long after you finish it. For me, it was a five-star read, without a doubt.
