„Oglinda fiarelor” de Alexandra Bracken este o continuare intensă și emoționantă care m-a ținut în priză până la final. Este ultimul volum al duologiei „Blestemul oaselor”, o poveste plină de magie întunecată, blesteme greu de rupt și alegeri care îți pot sfâșia inima.
Tamsin Lark este din nou în centrul poveștii. Puternică, încăpățânată, rănită, dar mereu gata să lupte. Deși nu are magie, ea nu se dă înapoi din fața pericolului și face tot ce poate pentru a-i salva pe cei dragi. În acest volum, tărâmul Avalon este pe marginea prăpastiei. Magia se stinge, umbrele cresc, iar Hoarda Sălbatică își croiește drum prin sânge și cenușă. Răul se apropie, iar speranța este tot mai slabă.
Tamsin trebuie să-l prindă pe Lordul Morții într-un artefact legendar – Oglinda Fiarelor. Se spune că această oglindă poate închide chiar și spirite nemuritoare, dar cine o atinge nu rămâne niciodată același. În fața oglinzii, Tamsin este nevoită să se confrunte cu tot ce a ascuns: fricile ei, jurămintele încălcate și dragostea imposibilă pentru cineva pe care nu avea voie să-l iubească.
Reîntâlnirea cu Cabell, fratele ei vitreg, aduce emoții amestecate. Între ei s-a așezat o prăpastie de tăceri, dar totul se reduce la o singură întrebare: poate dragostea să repare ce a distrus blestemul? Apariția lui Emrys, un aliat cu intenții neclare, aduce un aer proaspăt în poveste. Relația dintre el și Tamsin este plină de ironii și tensiuni, dar și de momente în care ea își permite, în sfârșit, să viseze.
Mi-a plăcut mult atmosfera întunecată, aproape gotică, unde jurămintele se leagă cu sânge, iar umbrele prind glas. Blestemele nu sunt doar magie, ci forțe care pot rupe legături, distruge regate și condamna suflete. Iar cel mai greu nu este să lupți cu monstrul din afară, ci cu cel din tine.
Autoarea creează o lume detaliată, inspirată din mituri arthuriene, dar cu o abordare modernă și originală. Am simțit influențe din Harry Potter, dar și ceva diferit, unic. Acțiunea este bine echilibrată, iar mizele cresc constant. Totuși, uneori mi-ar fi plăcut ca ritmul să fie mai alert, iar anumite explicații mai scurte – de aceea am ales să ofer 4 stele, nu 5.
Finalul este intens, dureros, dar și frumos. Tamsin trebuie să aleagă: va salva lumea sau va risca totul pentru iubirea ei? Este o alegere imposibilă, dar perfectă pentru o eroină ca ea.
„Oglinda fiarelor” este o încheiere impresionantă a unei duologii care m-a făcut să simt fiecare emoție. Trădarea, curajul, sacrificiul și dragostea interzisă sunt doar câteva dintre temele care se împletesc perfect într-o poveste care merită citită până la capăt.

I loved the dark, almost gothic atmosphere, where oaths are bound in blood and shadows find their voice. The curses are not just spells—they’re forces that can break bonds, destroy kingdoms, and doom souls. And the hardest battle is not against the monster outside, but the one within.
The author builds a detailed world, inspired by Arthurian myths but with a modern, original twist. I could feel hints of Harry Potter, but also something entirely different and unique. The pacing is well-balanced, and the stakes rise steadily. Still, there were moments when I wished for a slightly faster rhythm and shorter explanations—which is why I chose to give it 4 stars instead of 5.
The ending is intense, heartbreaking, yet beautiful. Tamsin must choose: will she save the world or risk everything for her love? It’s an impossible choice—but the perfect one for a heroine like her.
“The Mirror of Beasts” is a powerful conclusion to a duology that made me feel every emotion. Betrayal, courage, sacrifice, and forbidden love are just a few of the themes woven masterfully into a story that’s absolutely worth reading to the very end.
