„Twisted Games” de Ana Huang a fost o lectură care mi-a adus fluturi în stomac, dar și momente tensionate care m-au făcut să dau pagină după pagină. Este o poveste de dragoste interzisă, cu multă pasiune, dar și cu responsabilități, lupte interioare și secrete de curte regală. Nu m-am putut desprinde ușor de povestea dintre Bridget și Rhys, doi oameni aparent diferiți, dar uniți de o atracție care scapă de sub control.
Bridget este o prințesă modernă, cu un suflet blând, dar și cu o voință puternică. La începutul poveștii, pare că duce o viață perfectă: este frumoasă, inteligentă și bogată. Totuși, ceea ce mi-a plăcut la ea a fost faptul că nu e doar o figură decorativă – visează la libertate, la o viață normală, la dragoste adevărată. Dar totul se complică atunci când fratele ei abdică și ea devine moștenitoarea tronului. Dintr-o dată, nu mai este doar o femeie tânără și visătoare, ci o viitoare regină care trebuie să pună datoria mai presus de inimă.
Iar Rhys Larsen… ei bine, el este acel bodyguard tăcut, dur și protector, care îți dă fiori doar printr-o privire. Are o atitudine rece și pare că nimic nu-l poate clinti. Însă, pe măsură ce relația dintre el și Bridget evoluează, descoperim un bărbat care ascunde mai multe răni decât ar vrea să recunoască. Este loial, gata să se sacrifice, dar se luptă constant între ceea ce simte și ceea ce are voie să facă.
Relația lor e tensionată, interzisă și extrem de pasională. Mi-a plăcut mult cum se dezvoltă chimia dintre ei – de la ironii și replici tăioase, până la momente de tandrețe intensă. Dar în același timp, am simțit că unele scene au fost puțin prea dramatice, sau că s-au întins mai mult decât era nevoie. Uneori, parcă totul era prea tras de păr, prea mult „interzis” și „nu putem fi împreună”, deși era clar că nu mai puteau trăi unul fără celălalt.
Ce mi-a plăcut în mod special a fost decorul regal – baluri, intrigi politice, secrete de familie, reguli stricte și imaginea unei femei care trebuie să aleagă între inimă și coroană. Finalul m-a emoționat, pentru că arată cât de departe pot merge doi oameni când iubirea este reală.
Pe scurt, „Twisted Games” este o poveste despre dorință, sacrificiu și alegerea dintre ceea ce este corect și ceea ce îți dictează inima. Nu este o poveste ușoară, dar este una care te prinde și te face să visezi cu ochii deschiși. De aceea îi dau 4 stele – pentru romantismul intens, personajele puternice și emoțiile pe care mi le-a stârnit, chiar dacă pe alocuri mi-aș fi dorit un ritm mai echilibrat și ceva mai puțin dramatism.

„Twisted Games” by Ana Huang was a read that gave me butterflies in my stomach, but also tense moments that made me turn page after page. It’s a forbidden love story, full of passion, but also burdened with responsibilities, inner struggles, and royal court secrets. I couldn’t easily detach myself from Bridget and Rhys’s story—two seemingly different people bound by an uncontrollable attraction.
Bridget is a modern princess, with a kind heart and a strong will. At the beginning of the story, it seems like she lives a perfect life: she’s beautiful, smart, and rich. However, what I liked most about her is that she’s not just a pretty face—she dreams of freedom, of a normal life, of true love. But everything gets complicated when her brother abdicates and she becomes heir to the throne. Suddenly, she’s no longer just a young, dreamy woman—she’s a future queen who must place duty above her heart.
And Rhys Larsen… well, he’s the strong, silent bodyguard type who gives you chills with just a look. He has a cold demeanor and seems unshakable. Yet, as his relationship with Bridget evolves, we discover a man hiding more pain than he’s willing to admit. He’s loyal, willing to sacrifice everything, but constantly torn between what he feels and what he’s allowed to do.
Their relationship is tense, forbidden, and extremely passionate. I really liked how their chemistry develops—from sarcasm and sharp banter to moments of intense tenderness. At the same time, I felt that some scenes were a bit too dramatic or dragged on longer than necessary. Sometimes it felt overly exaggerated, too much of the “we can’t be together” trope, even though it was clear they couldn’t live without each other.
What I especially enjoyed was the royal setting—balls, political intrigue, family secrets, strict rules, and the image of a woman forced to choose between her heart and the crown. The ending moved me, showing just how far two people can go when their love is real.
In short, „Twisted Games” is a story about desire, sacrifice, and choosing between what’s right and what your heart wants. It’s not an easy love story, but it’s one that pulls you in and makes you daydream. That’s why I give it 4 stars—for the intense romance, the strong characters, and the emotions it stirred in me, even though at times I wished for a more balanced pace and slightly less drama.
