Cartea urmărește relația complicată dintre un fiu adult, Theodor, și mama sa, o femeie puternică și independentă, care trăiește în capitala Greciei, Atena.
Theodor, un scriitor aflat la o răscruce în viață, simte că inspirația l-a părăsit.
